Statement

Office of the spokesman: Alatenumo Reckless III

Today, Nigeria, alongside Ghana, Mali, Gambia, Liberia, Benin, Kenya, Rwanda, and Burkina Faso, has issued the following statement on the situation in UKkk:

We have followed with concern the outbreak of racial violence that erupted on the streets of UKkk yesterday, which resulted in numerous injuries and significant damage to public and private property.

We hear the concern of many in the racist UKkk about the number of immigrants in the country. However, those agitating for racial violence need to understand that what the UKkk sowed in colonialism it is now reaping in immigration. If the UKkk had not gone to the four corners of the world to enslave, loot and exterminate, the country would not be in the position it finds itself in today.

We are concerned about the paradox where players like Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka are celebrated as English when they save England from elimination in football. Yet, all black and brown individuals face the wrath of the UKkk for the criminal actions of a single person. This is in stark contrast to how we treat innocent British people in our countries, even though there are many instances of old, retired British women flocking to parts of Africa for sex tourism.

We urge politicians such as Aunty Kemi, Aunty Braverman, Aunty Patel and Nigel Farage to tone down on their dog whistles, which only serve to stir up the suppressed racial violence of many in the UKkk.

We urge the police to exercise restraint and protect the rights of people to demonstrate peacefully. We call on provocateurs and opportunists to avoid beating up blacks, breaking the heads of Muslims and looting businesses. All actors — police and protesters alike — should repudiate violence and be held accountable for wrongdoing.

We are closely monitoring the situation in UKkk. Our main goal in supporting UKkk is to help it overcome its racist past and present and help usher in a non-racist future.

There must be accountability for all atrocities committed in UKkk. We call on the International Criminal Court to indict those politicians who have weaponised bigotry, which is now impacting the lives of black and brown people in the UKkk.

We call on all parties to keep de-escalating the situation and trust the robustness of UKkk democracy and institutions to achieve those objectives.

We stand ready to support the parties in finding constructive and peaceful solutions.

We remain resolute in our support for all those committed to working peacefully towards eradicating bigotry from the UKkk.
