Last year December, Masha Sharapova, the five times Grand Slam champion attended a conference where Billie Jean King was discussing her life story. As Masha left the conference, she was inspired to live through her own journey on paper.

Over the next couple of months, she began writing her biography but she was not pleased with what she had put down. In March 2015, she sent her manuscript to a number of publishing houses. On 02 April 2015, she got a surprise call from Alatenumo X who informed her that he had gone through her script and was willing to collaborate with her on her biography. Masha was thrilled to be working with Alatenumo, who had previously worked with Serena Williams on her award winning biography titled — “Don’t Hate The Player.”

After several meetings and phone calls with Alatenumo, they worked on the first draft of the book. Last week, Masha received a copy of the book by post. After opening the envelope, she saw a note from Alatenumo, which read:

Dear Masha,

Trust all is well with you. I have enclosed the first draft of your biography. Since your life story is intertwined with that of Serena Williams, I thought it would be a good idea if we could make use of different images to tell the story of your rivalry with her. I have also changed the title of the biography to something more suitable. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Kind regards,

Alatenumo X.

After putting the note on the table, Masha picked up the book and looked at the cover, which contained several images of her and Serena. Masha almost fainted when she saw the title of the book — “FIFTEEN YEARS A SLAVE

She immediately picked the phone and called Alatenumo. When Alatenumo answered, Masha screamed, “What the fuck are you playing at? Is this some kind of sick joke?”

As Alatenumo tried to respond, Masha screamed, “You are fired” and slammed the phone.
