African Union Election Observation Mission to the 2024 US Election
Press Release: Arrival of the African Union Election Observation Mission to the 5 November 2024 Presidential Election in the United States of AmeriKKKa
The African Union Election Observer Group will be sending a 30-person delegation led by Dr Alatenumo Reckless III to monitor the USA Presidential Election taking place on 5 November 2024.
The Mission’s goal is to observe the election campaign and election day operations, comprising the opening of polling stations, voting operations, and closing and counting procedures for the presidential election. The mission ends on 6 November 2024, the date of its departure from Washington.
The team will be focusing on ensuring a smooth election devoid of the shenanigans that resulted during the 2020 US Presidential Election, which was marred by violence and claims and counterclaims of election rigging.
The African Union is concerned about the various efforts taking place to suppress voters from minority groups from voting.
The election observer team will also be monitoring the influence of money on this year’s election. Previous US elections have been marred by corruption as moneybags have used their vast financial resources to influence results. The team will submit its recommendation on overhauling the campaign finance system so that the USA can morph from a Dollarcracy system of one dollar, one vote to a true democracy of one person, one vote.
The African Union calls on the presidential candidates of both parties to tone down on the divisive rhetoric which has led to President Trump being described as a Nazi and Vice President Harris being called a slut. This sort of language has no place in the civilised world.
The African Union appeals to both presidential candidates to accept the outcome of the result and refrain from violence. The African Union Command Force will be on standby in the event of any violence.
Signed
Dr Alatenumo Reckless III
Head of Mission
